What is the Contactless Feature?
The Contactless feature with the symbol
is a feature on UOB Mastercard and Visa Credit Cards that makes payments easier and faster because the payment process is conducted without having the card touch or inserted into the card reader (EDC machine).
What are the benefits?
With the Contactless feature, payments become faster, easier, more secure and convenient. Simply tap the UOB Credit Card with the Contactless symbol to the card reader (EDC machine) at the cashier and your transaction is complete. With the Contactless feature, your transactions become secure and more convenient because your UOB Credit Card does not leave your hand when conducting transactions in front of the cashier, so your data stays confidential and your physical UOB Credit Card is kept clean.
How to use the Contactless Feature?
Look for a Contactless card reader (EDC machine) that displays the Contactless feature symbol with the Mastercard/ Visa logo at the cashier. After the cashier enters the purchase amount into the card reader (EDC machine), bring the Mastercard/Visa Credit Card within a distance of up to 5 cm from the Contactless card reader (EDC machine). The transaction is successful when the green indicator light turns on and you see a message confirming that your transaction is confirmed.
Where can I make payments with the Contactless Feature?
You can make Contactless transactions at various merchants around the world. Find merchants that display the Contactless symbol and Mastercard/Visa logo on the card reader (EDC machine) at the cashier.
Is the Contactless Feature secure to use?
It is secure, because like a chip card, every transaction is accompanied by a one-time code that keeps your payment information secure. Additionally, you will not make an accidental payment because your UOB Credit Card must be within 5 cm of the terminal for the transaction to occur and you will not be charged twice, even if you accidentally tap the card reader (EDC machine) more than once.
Are there any purchase restrictions using the Contactless feature?
You can use the Contactless feature to shop in unlimited amounts. For domestic transactions, if the transaction value with Contactless is more than IDR 1 million (or equivalent to the rupiah currency), then your transaction must use a PIN. Contactless transactions made abroad will follow the applicable regulations in said country.
Can I get proof of payment after making a transaction?
The Contactless feature is designed as a paperless payment tool, where you only need to tap the card and it's done, but you can request proof of payment if needed (with no additional fees).
How do I track my purchases using the Contactless Feature?
You can check your transaction records online at any time via the UOB TMRW app or via the UOB Contact Center at 14008 or 62-21-2355 9000. The monthly billing statement you receive from UOB Bank will also record your Contactless transactions.
Can the card be read (a purchase made without me knowing) when passing through the EDC machine/card reader?
No. The Contactless feature is designed to ensure that the cardholder is always in control. The cashier must first enter the purchase amount for approval and the UOB Credit Card must be in very close proximity to the card reader (EDC machine) for the transaction to be successful. The card reader (EDC machine) can only process one payment transaction at a time.
I am an existing UOB customer and I want to replace my Credit Card with a Contactless Card. How can I do it?
You can replace your old Credit Card with a Contactless Card by contacting the UOB Contact Center at 14008 or 62-21-2355 9000. Card replacement will be subject to a fee in accordance with the applicable regulations.

My GIUC card is already active. Why is my GarudaMiles membership number not registered with Garuda Indonesia?
Your GarudaMiles membership might not be registered due to mismatched or incomplete information, such as a missing email address. To resolve this and update your details, contact the Garuda Indonesia Call Center at garudamiles@garuda-indonesia.com or via Whatsapp Hotline at 08112807807.
Can I apply for GIUC if I already hold a Garuda Indonesia co-branded credit card with another bank?
No. According to Garuda Indonesia policy, customers can only hold 1 (one) Garuda Indonesia co-branded credit card.
Can I apply for a supplementary credit card for Garuda Indonesia UOB Credit Card?
Currently, new applications for supplementary Garuda Indonesia UOB credit cards are not available.

Cardholders with UOB GarudaMiles Platinum membership can have free access to the Garuda Indonesia Executive Lounge (domestic & international) when flying with Garuda Indonesia. GarudaMiles Platinum members are also recognized as SkyTeam Elite Plus, granting access to lounges of other SkyTeam member airlines worldwide.
Does this card have airport perks benefits?
Customers get an extra 20 kg baggage allowance and access to special check-in counters at certain airports.
Additionally, GIUC customers can also enjoy a bonus of 1 Italian BMT 6" Sandwich at airport Subway outlets by purchasing just 1 6" size sandwich. This Subway program is valid until December 31, 2026.
Is there a difference in mile accumulation if the transaction is online (e-commerce) vs. offline?
There is no difference in mile accumulation between online (e-commerce) and offline transactions. For every of IDR24,000, you will earn:
- 4.8x GarudaMiles (equivalent to IDR5,000/mile) for transactions at Garuda Indonesia.
- 3x GarudaMiles (equivalent to IDR8,000/mile) for overseas transactions in foreign currencies and hotel & travel categories (both domestic or international).

Can I earn miles if a transaction is converted into installments?
No, transactions converted into installments do not earn GarudaMiles.
Can I earn miles for PayAnything transactions?
Yes, PayAnything transactions still earn GarudaMiles.
Is there a difference in mile accumulation for Supplementary Cards?
There is no difference in mile accumulation between the Primary Card and the Supplementary Card. For every of IDR24,000, you will earn:

Will the earned miles from Supplementary Card transferred to its own GarudaMiles membership number if it differs from the Primary Cardholder?
Transactions on the Supplementary Card will be accumulated into the Primary Cardholder billing. Therefore, miles earned from transactions on the Supplementary Card will be transferred to the Primary Cardholder’s GarudaMiles membership.
GarudaMiles Membership FAQ
When will the miles from my GIUC transactions be credited to my account?
GarudaMiles earned from your Garuda Indonesia UOB Card transaction will be transferred automatically to your GarudaMiles account once you have accumulated a minimum of 250 miles.
How can I check the total number of miles I have earned?
You can view your earned GarudaMiles through the FlyGaruda application, which can be downloaded from the App Store or Google Play.
I already have a previous GarudaMiles membership. Can I still get a GIUC card?
Yes, you can still apply for a GIUC credit card. As long as your data at UOB matches your data at Garuda Indonesia, you can use your existing GarudaMiles membership number.
Why did I receive a GIUC card with a GarudaMiles membership number that is different from my previous membership number?
In the event of a data discrepancy, a new GarudaMiles membership number may be generated by Garuda Indonesia. Cardholders are advised to contact Garuda Indonesia Call Center via email (garudamiles@garuda-indonesia.com) or WhatsApp Hotline 08112807807 to request data alignment based on the GarudaMiles membership number printed on your Garuda Indonesia UOB Card.
How do I check for GarudaMiles that have not been transferred to my GarudaMiles membership?
You can contact the UOB Contact Centre at 14008 or (021) 2355 9000 for information regarding GarudaMiles that have not yet been transferred to your GarudaMiles membership.
