What is the Contactless Feature?

The Contactless feature with the symbol contactless is a feature on UOB Mastercard and Visa Credit Cards that makes payments easier and faster because the payment process is conducted without having the card touch or inserted into the card reader (EDC machine).

With the Contactless feature, payments become faster, easier, more secure and convenient. Simply tap the UOB Credit Card with the Contactless symbol to the card reader (EDC machine) at the cashier and your transaction is complete. With the Contactless feature, your transactions become secure and more convenient because your UOB Credit Card does not leave your hand when conducting transactions in front of the cashier, so your data stays confidential and your physical UOB Credit Card is kept clean.

Look for a Contactless card reader (EDC machine) that displays the Contactless feature symbol with the Mastercard/ Visa logo at the cashier. After the cashier enters the purchase amount into the card reader (EDC machine), bring the Mastercard/Visa Credit Card within a distance of up to 5 cm from the Contactless card reader (EDC machine). The transaction is successful when the green indicator light turns on and you see a message confirming that your transaction is confirmed.

You can make Contactless transactions at various merchants around the world. Find merchants that display the Contactless symbol and Mastercard/Visa logo on the card reader (EDC machine) at the cashier.

It is secure, because like a chip card, every transaction is accompanied by a one-time code that keeps your payment information secure. Additionally, you will not make an accidental payment because your UOB Credit Card must be within 5 cm of the terminal for the transaction to occur and you will not be charged twice, even if you accidentally tap the card reader (EDC machine) more than once.

You can use the Contactless feature to shop in unlimited amounts. For domestic transactions, if the transaction value with Contactless is more than IDR 1 million (or equivalent to the rupiah currency), then your transaction must use a PIN. Contactless transactions made abroad will follow the applicable regulations in said country.

The Contactless feature is designed as a paperless payment tool, where you only need to tap the card and it's done, but you can request proof of payment if needed (with no additional fees).

You can check your transaction records online at any time via the UOB TMRW app or via the UOB Privilege Banking Hotline at 1500288 or (021) 2355 9088. The monthly billing statement you receive from UOB Bank will also record your Contactless transactions.

No. The Contactless feature is designed to ensure that the cardholder is always in control. The cashier must first enter the purchase amount for approval and the UOB Credit Card must be in very close proximity to the card reader (EDC machine) for the transaction to be successful. The card reader (EDC machine) can only process one payment transaction at a time.

You can replace your old Credit Card with a Contactless Card by contacting the UOB Privilege Banking Hotline at 1500288 or (021) 2355 9088. Card replacement will be subject to a fee in accordance with the applicable regulations.

Terms and Conditions - Welcome Bonus Program for Cards Approved starting 1 January 2026.

  1. Bonus up to 10,000 Airline Miles are awarded in the form of UOB Points, totaling up to 58,700 UOB Points.
  2. Bonus 58,700 UOB Points are valid for UOB Zenith Credit Cards approved between 1 January 2026 and 31 December 2026.
  3. Valid for new UOB Zenith Credit Card applicants who have never held a UOB Credit Card.
  4. Transaction period and rewards awarded are as below:

  14. Bonus UOB Points will be awarded to customers with current status and unblocked credit card payments.
  15. UOB Bank reserves the right to cancel or withdraw rewards awarded in the event of suspicious transactions, transaction cancellations, violations of terms and conditions, or violations of laws and regulations.
  16. UOB Bank may change, delete, or add to these terms and conditions, as well as the number of UOB Points required for UOB Point redemption, with prior notice.

  4. UOB Zenith primary cardholders must be guests staying in the reserved room.
  5. UOB Zenith Cardholders must make a reservation via UOB Privilege Banking Hotline 1500288 and will be connected to UOB Concierge Services no later than 2 (two) days before the date of stay.
  6. Effective July 1, 2025, there are additional new provisions for the 4th night free service on the UOB Zenith Card feature, namely to be able to order the 4th night free service, the Cardholder must have a bill of at least IDR 25 million (retail transactions including installments, recurring bill payments, cash advances, and PayAnything) on the last month's UOB Zenith bill.
  7. Cardholders can still enjoy the 4th night free complimentary without the conditions in point 6 above until July 1, 2025.
  8. If there is an indication of fraud or a violation of laws and regulations, the Bank has the right to charge an airport transfer service fee to the UOB Zenith Card or other UOB Card belonging to the Cardholder

  2. Every UOB Zenith Cardholders can enjoy 1 (one) free airport pick-up or drop-off service per 1 (one) travel destination.
  3. Complimentary 1 (one) pick-up or drop-off service is valid for maximum of 5 (five) times per 1 (one) calendar year.
  4. This service is valid for 3 (three) passengers and a maximum of 2 (two) large pieces of luggage.
  5. Reservations for this complimentary airport pick-up or drop-off service must be made no later than 72 (seventy-two) hours before travel time via the UOB Privilege Banking Hotline 1500288 and will be connected to UOB Concierge Services.
  6. The list of countries eligible for the airport pick-up and drop-off service can be seen in the table below.
  7. Effective 1 July 2025, there are additional conditions for the Airport Transfer service on the UOB Zenith Card feature:
    1. The total airport transfer service is 5x per year with maximum restriction is 2x in overseas area
    2. The cost borne by the Bank is limited to USD100 per trip. Excess costs will be borne by the Cardholder.
    3. To be able to order an airport transfer service, the Cardholder must have a bill of at least IDR25 million (retail transactions, including installments, recurring bill payments, cash advances, and PayAnything) on the last month's bill on the last month's UOB Zenith bill.
  8. Cardholders can still enjoy the airport transfer service without the conditions in point 7 above until 1 July 2025.
  9. If there is an indication of fraud or a violation of laws and regulations, the Bank has the right to charge the airport transfer service fee to the UOB Zenith Card or other UOB Card belonging to the Cardholder.

  4. Confirmation of the airport lounge reservation will be sent via email to UOB Zenith Cardholders.
  5. UOB Zenith Cardholders are required to show the email confirmation (e-certificate) from Dragon Pass which will be sent by UOB Concierge Services to be able to enjoy the complimentary waiting service at the airport.
  6. Reservations for this Lounge access must be made no later than 2 (two) days before the visit.
